Iranian Researchers Manufacture over 1,200 Portable Solar Power Plants

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian researchers succeeded in making more than 1,200 portable solar plants to be used in deprived and underdeveloped areas.

“Considering the basic challenge of Iran in the field of energy, the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) established a specialized center for new and renewable energies in the province as the first center for production of such power plants. It has been hybridized to be able to answer a part of the energy needs of different regions,” Ali Asqar Fatehifar, the head of ACECR at East Azerbaijan province in Northwestern Iran, told ANA.

“Therefore, we designed portable power plants for deprived areas. As the first center in the field of hybrid energy (wind and solar), we designed and built hybrid power plants, installed and put them into operation in different regions of the country,” he added.

“In the last few years, the center has designed portable solar power plants for different regions of the country with the ability of generating 5 to 100 watts of electricity and has built over 1,200 units of this power plant,” Fatehifar said.

Renewable energy is energy produced from sources like the sun and wind that are naturally replenished and do not run out. Renewable energy can be used for electricity generation, space and water heating and cooling, and transportation.

Non-renewable energy, in contrast, comes from finite sources that could get used up, such as fossil fuels like coal and oil.

Renewable energy sources, such as biomass, geothermal resources, sunlight, water, and wind, are natural resources that can be converted into several types of clean and usable energies.
