Iran-Made Purification Device Removes Argon Gas Impurities

TEHRAN (ANA)- Specialists at an Iranian knowledge-based company that produces industrial laboratory equipment and peripheral systems succeeded in indigenizing an argon gas purification device that prevents damage to analysis devices by minimizing gas impurities in the capsule.

“The gas purification device is used in quantometer devices which analyze metals and it is applied to prevent impurities like oxides and carbides from entering the sensitive optical parts, and also to create a suitable chemical environment in the spark chamber, and as a result, increase the stability of analysis accuracy,” said Alireza Salami, the managing-director of the knowledge-based company.

“One of the most important things in quantometer devices is the analysis of cast iron samples which is almost impossible without using an argon gas filter. It is necessary to use an argon gas filter in steel and cast iron factories. Also, in desktop quantometer devices, it is necessary to use a purification device to prevent impurities from entering the sensitive optical parts and damaging the CCD detector,” he added.

Noting that mounting an argon gas filter between the gas capsule and the laboratory device ensures that the gas impurities in the capsule are minimized to less than 1 VPM, Salami said, “The argon gas filter includes three tubes to absorb the impurities in the capsule, and based on the need and application of the gas filter, it is possible to install one or all three tubes to absorb the impurities. One of the advantages of this product is the use of suitable gas connections for the piping of argon, helium, etc. gases, so that even when the purification device is disconnected from the gas source, the device is not exposed to air pollution and impurities.”

“In addition, the gas purification device does not need major repairs and maintenance and even replacement of its tubes. The device is equipped with a thermocouple and displays the situation inside the filter furnace, and it is also equipped with a thermal sensor that can cut off the power of the device when the temperature of the device increases. Also, due to the use of electronic parts with appropriate power and special design, it is immune to abnormal electricity fluctuations and has optimal and reliable long-term performance and proper power consumption,” he added.

In a relevant development in November, researchers at a knowledge-based company in Iran had also successfully designed and produced an air purification and disinfection system based on active plasma technology.

Hamed Banaeifard, the director of research and development department of the Iranian knowledge-based company, said, “The air purification and disinfection system based on active plasma technology performs the air purification process in the form of a separate filter and effects on pollutants in the device and is able to do so without the use of chemicals and at a lower cost and completely safe and secure compared to other systems. Disinfectant materials for air purification and disinfection of therapeutic environments, complete organization. It fully purifies and disinfects air in indoor environments at medical and organizational centers.”

“When the device is on, due to this type of technology, it performs the purification and disinfection process of air and surfaces without the need for the presence of personnel from the respective organization,” he also said.

“If the plasma filter system is placed next to filters such as HEPA or carbon filters, it can increase the durability of these filters due to their special impact on pollutants and have a synergistic process in terms of cost management and purification efficiency,” he continued.
