Iranian Cabinet Vows to Continue Martyred President's Path

Iranian cabinet members have pledged to carry on the legacy of the late President Ebrahim Raeisi, who was martyred in a helicopter crash last Sunday. The cabinet issued a statement expressing gratitude for the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the support of the Iranian people.

Iran (IMNA) – The statement highlighted that although the martyrdom of Iranian officials is a devastating loss for the country, the massive turnout of the Iranian nation during the funeral ceremonies of the martyred president and his companions created an indelible mark in the history of the Islamic Revolution.

The cabinet members, under the leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and with the backing of the people, have vowed to relentlessly strive to continue the path of the martyred president.

President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were among those who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan. The helicopter, carrying a delegation that included the governor of East Azarbaijan, the Friday Prayers leader of Tabriz, and a member of the president's bodyguard team, crashed in the Dizmar forest between the cities of Varzaqan and Jolfa.

The delegation was returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on the Aras River with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev when the incident occurred.

Following the tragic martyrdom of President Raeisi, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei declared a 5-day mourning period in Iran. Millions of people participated in the farewell ceremonies held for the martyrs in various cities across the country, including Tabriz, Qom, Birjand, Mashhad, and Tehran.
