According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website):A young Spanish woman named Yiren Lopez, who has recently converted to Islam, has challenged the dual standards of the West regarding personal freedoms and the hijab. With over a million followers on her TikTok social media channel, she explains aspects of the Islamic faith that have garnered significant attention from users.

In a recent video responding to criticism from some users about the topics of personal freedom and mandatory hijab in Islam, she emphasized, “We are only defending freedom, but what freedom? The one that is more comfortable: telling you that poor women in Iran are forced to wear the hijab and then telling me that the hijab is meaningless. So, what happened to the concept of freedom?”

Addressing her viewers, she states, “You are hypocritical. You shout that women in Iran are oppressed because they have to wear the hijab, even though the same thing happens in reverse here in Spain. There’s no obligation to wear the hijab, but nobody protests.”

Ms. Lopez continues in the video, “Here in Spain, supposedly a free country, if someone wears the hijab, they can’t go to a good school, get a job, or have social status. The only job they may get is in cleaning or the kitchen, somewhere out of the public eye. If they want a good job or school, they must remove their hijab.”

She criticizes the discriminatory approaches in the West to the freedom issue and adds, “So, don’t talk so much about dignity and rights. If women are forced to wear the hijab there, you are forcing them to remove it here. Hijab is essential for me. Why do you want me to take it off? First, respect the rights of women living in Spain, then go shout for the rights of women in another country.”

In the video, this young Spanish woman states, “In Islam, there is no compulsion.”
