TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is capable of becoming the leading food supplier in the region, according to the director general of the Coordinating Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Speaking in a meeting on the export of agricultural and food products, aimed at introducing the production and export capabilities of Iran in the field of agriculture, Mahmoud Bazari noted that a meeting on the development of regional cooperation in producing and trading halal food products will be held on June 8 with the participation of Muslim states including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Undoubtedly, organizing such an event will greatly help develop interactions in the region in the field of trade, Bazari emphasized, Mehr news agency reported.
The TPOI official called Iran a regional hub in producing food and said the country could be the main supplier of food in the region, and for this reason, branding should be taken into consideration.
