TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Needing a win to keep its BCL Asia campaign alive, Pelita Jaya pulled off an upset against Iran’s Shahrdari Gorgan 97-90.

Pelita Jaya’s James Dickey built off an impressive double-double debut with a massive encore, going for 40 points and 17 rebounds. His points total is so far the most by any player in this BCL Asia, while his 17 rebounds are tied for the most – set by himself.
Justin Brownlee also had a massive game of 32 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. But it was not just about the contributions of the two stars. The backcourt tandem of Andakara Prastawa and Muhamad Arighi Noor combined for 20 points while making it as tough as possible for Joseph Young and Will Cherry to put points on the board for Gorgan.
Will Cherry (24 points) and Joseph Young (21 points) both ended up leading Gorgan in scoring, but took 43 attempts in the process to get there. Salar Monji had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Gorgan will have to bounce back immediately with an important game against the Hiroshima Dragonflies on Tuesday. Pelita Jaya will then face KCC Egis in a crucial clash on Wednesday.
