Tehran Prepares for 10-Kilometer Ghadir Celebration

According to rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website):Moukebs are being set up across the Enqelab street in the center of the city as the Tuesday festivities are expected to draw three million people in the capital.

Tehran is set to host a vibrant 10-kilometer celebration for Eid al-Ghadir, with temporary stations representing five countries along the route, announced

Speaking in a press conference on Sunday, Sasan Zare, secretary of the Public Affairs Headquarters for the event, detailed the event’s timing and venues, indicating that from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., a network of 2,200 temporary stations will cater to the public, stretching from Azadi Square to the intersection of Damavand Street and Imam Ali Highway.

He said that representatives of five countries, namely Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, will also establish moukebs along the route.

The celebration, which commemorates the appointment of Imam Ali (AS) as the successor to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is a unifying occasion for the Islamic community. It recalls the historic moment at Ghadir Khumm, where the Prophet (PBUH) designated his cousin Ali (AS) as the first Imam, following divine revelation.

This year’s observance in Tehran will see a 30% increase in temporary stations, with 300 cities across the country joining in, culminating in 360 kilometers of nationwide celebrations, Zare said.

He highlighted the addition of 22 stations representing diverse ethnic groups and the live coverage planned at four main squares in Tehran.

Special events for this year include enhanced lighting at 26 locations, performances by 100 flight teams, and a city skyline adorned with numerous balloons.
