Israeli Airstrikes Continue to Devastate Gaza Strip

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli air and artillery strikes have intensified in the Gaza Strip, leading to further casualties and destruction in the blockaded territory.

The Israeli regime continued its assault on the Gaza Strip with more air and artillery strikes on Wednesday.

The latest attack on Wednesday night targeted a residential building in central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least two Palestinians and injuring several others.

In the southern Gaza city of Rafah, Israeli military operations included airstrikes and artillery fire on multiple areas.

Central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah was also bombed in the latest air raids.

Following overnight attacks in northern Gaza that killed nine people, Israeli forces struck a house near Bureij camp in central Gaza with artillery fire, killing at least one person and injuring others.

Over the past 24 hours, numerous civilians have been killed in Israeli artillery and air attacks targeting central and northern Gaza.

The International Network for Aid, Relief and Assistance has warned about the extensive destruction in Gaza, describing the territory as nearly "uninhabitable."

Arwa Damon, founder of INARA, stated that on a recent trip to Gaza City to distribute aid, she witnessed widespread destruction affecting “every single aspect of life that would make the Gaza Strip inhabitable.”

“Every single other part of this tiny stretch of land has been rendered totally and completely uninhabitable,” Damon said.

Since the Israeli regime launched its genocidal war on Gaza in early October last year, more than 37,700 people have been killed, including 16,000 children, according to reports.

UNICEF reports that the bodies of thousands of missing children remain buried under the rubble.

UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Ted Chaiban stated on Wednesday during a UN Security Council meeting that Palestinian children continue to endure “incomprehensible suffering” amid the “staggering” scale of death and destruction in Gaza.

Palestine's UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour, also speaking at the Security Council meeting, noted that Israel has killed more children in recent months than in all armed conflicts globally over the past four years.

Mansour estimated that nearly 16,000 Palestinian children were killed in Israel’s aggression against Gaza, with another 21,000 missing.

He described the Gaza Strip, once a vibrant place where children set world records in sports, as now reduced to a graveyard, urging for “collective resolve and responsibility to pressure Israel to stop the madness.”
