Israeli Forces Arrest 28 in Latest West Bank Raids

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces conducted a series of raids across the occupied West Bank, resulting in the arrest of 28 Palestinians, including a female university student.

The majority of the arrests occurred in the Jenin governorate, with additional detentions reported in Hebron (al-Khalil), Bethlehem, Ramallah, el-Bireh, Nablus, and Jerusalem al-Quds, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, which monitors daily arrests.

In Hebron governorate, Israeli military raids led to the arrest of four Palestinians, as reported by Wafa news agency.

Three individuals, including a female university student, were apprehended during a raid on Yatta town, south of Hebron, while another man was taken into custody in Dura town, southwest of Hebron.

Elsewhere, Israeli forces shot and arrested a man in Qalandiya refugee camp after injuring him in the foot, and detained another man in Deir Ghassana village, northwest of Ramallah.

In Nablus, two men were arrested during a raid in Urif town, south of the city, local media sources confirmed.

Israeli troops also detained two men in Beit Daqqu town, northwest of occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds, and one man in Dura city, south of Hebron.

In Bethlehem, Israeli forces shot and injured two Palestinian men during a raid on Dheisheh refugee camp, with their current condition remaining uncertain.

Amid these violent raids, one Israeli soldier was reported dead and 17 others injured in a blast carried out by Palestinian fighters in Jenin city, according to Al Jazeera. Israeli forces, supported by bulldozers, drones, and Apache attack helicopters, conducted further raids in the area, resulting in the arrest of three Palestinians and the injury of another.

Local media reported that at least 17 Israeli soldiers sustained injuries, some serious, in the explosion carried out by Palestinian fighters in Jenin.

During the raids, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said to have gathered evidence of "severe beatings" by Israeli forces and threats against the families of detainees.

Since October 7, a total of 9,430 arrests have been made by Israeli authorities in near-daily raids across the occupied West Bank.
