TEHRAN – Iran’s Mobina Nematzadeh won a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Monday.
The taekwondo athlete lost to China’s Qing Guo 2-0 in the women’s 49kg weight class.
Nematzadeh had emerged victorious over Veronica Garces from the Philippines 2-0 and Kazakhstan’s Botakoz Kapanova 2-0 in her previous matches.
With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
