Knowledge-Based Firm Sets Up Automatic Solar Panel Production Line

TEHRAN (ANA)- Specialists at an Iranian knowledge-based company succeeded in launching the automatic production line of solar panels.

“In this device, various technologies, including integrated control of the device by Siemens PLC1200, temperature measurement by PT100 platinum sensors, creation of substrate suction by high flow side channel, creation of local suction to remove solar cells by FESTO venturi valves, engineering aluminum structure, creation of linear movements and rotation by three servo motors, linear and pneumatic rotary actuators for Pick & Place positions, substrate heating and temperature control by electric elements and control by PLC, wafer surface heating by IR lamps controlled by power controller and LM guide systems to facilitate accurate and repeatable positioning are used,” said Hamidreza Arab Torbati, the managing director of Yekta Karamadan Tose’eh Aria Development Company.

He added that using the infrared soldering module – which was achieved by forming a specialized team and conducting, recording and monitoring over 500 tests of solder parameters – and making maximum use of the capabilities of domestic industries in the construction of this production line so that a large number of parts can be used in the device, including three-phase electric motors, helical gearboxes in the ribbon opener module and the jacks of the string vector module made by domestic companies are among the important features of the achievement.

Arab Torbati explained that the complexity and main challenge in making the device is the mobile celling area along with press cutting and positioning the copper ribbons with tin coating by pneumatic grippers and finally pressing and soldering the set with an accuracy of 0.1 mm.

This production line, which was designed and built upon an order by an internal industry, is able to automatically solder 600 cells per hour, in addition to increasing the quality and speed of production, he added.

In a relevant development in November, an Iranian knowledge-based company had been entrusted with building the country’s biggest power plant in the Central province of Isfahan.

Majid Naderinejad, the managing director of Masha’al Pouya company, announces construction of a 1,000-megawatt solar power plant as the largest set of solar power plants constructed by private companies in Iran, and said, “So far, a total of 500 megawatts of electricity have been produced by solar power plants in the country, but we have been entrusted with building a 1,000-megawatt power plant and we hope that within a year it will be connected to the power grid.”

Also, Alireza Barani, the research and development manager of Masha’al Pouya company, announced the establishment of a solar reference laboratory in the company, and said, “This laboratory, which will operate to issue certificate tests for power plant equipment, is unique in the Middle-East, and we hope that we will no longer need foreign standards.”

Construction of the best and most specialized oil and energy technology campus in Isfahan and making specialized and sensitive products in the country's petro-refining industry are among other activities of the knowledge-based company since its establishment a year ago.
