Iran to Export Home-Made Stationary Air Pollution Analyzer Device to Regional States

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian researchers at a knowledge-based company succeeded in producing a stationary air pollution analyzer (SAPA) device for ambient air pollutants which works with solar energy and does not require electricity, a report said, adding that the home-made products have so far been exported to several regional nations.

“The SAPA device enjoys the capability to send measured information from the location it has been installed (by means of GPRS system) to the internet space which can be accessed graphically and completely regularly through a web browser,” said Sepehr Heidar Arabi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

He added that the product works completely with solar energy, noting that solar panels have been mounted on the device and it can measure certain environmental parameters like temperature and humidity and it does not need so much care, maintenance and repair.

“This product has the CE standard from Germany's TUV and a license from the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran. It can be used in public places, industrial places, traffic, meteorological sites and in various environmental conditions,” Heidar Arabi said.

“Other features of the SAPA device include the ability to display AQI on the device screen, the ability to detect particles with a diameter of at least 0.3 microns, internet connection, sending and storing information, and the ability to store, manage and display the data of several

air quality control devices in different locations,” he added.

Heidar Arabi also noted that negotiations have been held with several regional states, including Turkey and Iraq, to export the product.

In a relevant development last year, Iranian researchers had also unveiled air purifiers that are capable of removing odors and environmental pollutants while they can be recharged without the need for electricity and only by solar power.

“These filters are produced based on two materials, one is able to absorb all kinds of air pollutants and the other material in this filter decomposes the pollutants,” Fatemeh Esmayeeli, a member of the research team that manufactured the device said.

Explaining how the air purifier works, she added, “The nano material used in this purifier has pores that when it is exposed to pollutants, the pollutants are placed on these pores and through this process, the pollutants are eliminated.”

Esmayeeli said that being anti-odor is one of the other characteristics of their device saying that this air purifier can remove bad smell if it is placed in closed places such as refrigerators and shoe racks.

Stressing that nano materials are used in the air purifier, the researcher continued, “These materials can detect pollutants and decompose them into water and carbon.”
